Disney Media Player

Yep, you read that right. Disney has just added a new product to their line of electronics for kids. This one is a personal media player that plays music, videos, TV shows, or digital photos. It's got a nice, big 2.2 inch screen (the same as the new BlackBerry Pearl) and 512MB of internal memory. But get this...movies are purchased on memory cards...so the kids just need to swap cards when they wanna' watch a different movie. That may sound like a headache for people used to a ton of built in memory, but we're talking about kids and teens here...that's perfect!

And, the part parents will care about, the player only costs $99. The article doesn't say what the movie chips will cost, but my guess would be $10-$20. Maybe less. We'll see. I imagine this will catch on.
