Google Travel??

http://blogs.zdnet.com/ip-telephony/?p=1032

Rumors are mounting of a possible Google Travel service coming soon. If you think about it, it makes a whole lot of sense. Google has the power to link searches and cross reference everything. And talk about targeted ads...if someone books a flight to Chicago, for example, all Chicago based businesses can advertise. It opens up local advertising in a way not yet tapped.

The rumors suggest Google might partner with Orbitz for this service. ...or might they just buy Orbitz? Who knows. We'll see what happens.

But...the travel.google.com domain returns nothing...not even a placeholder. The placeholder would simply divert everyone back to the Google homepage whenever the travel domain was entered. This happened with the calendar. Months before it was released, the calendar.google.com link worked...it just didn't go to the calendar. :-) But, for now at least, travel.google.com returns nothing.

But it's all just rumor for now. We'll see what happens. Read more at Google News.
