It's true...Google announced their Spreadsheet program today. It's a completely web-based program that allows users to create, upload, and export Excel, CSV or HTML spreadsheet files. It's all stored online so you can access and edit your information from anywhere.
It's currently in a limited test, so you can't try it yet. But you can enter your email address to be notified when it becomes widely available.
This could be huge. Not only is it a great idea that a lot of people will be able to use, but it's also a direct competitor with Microsoft. Google continues to deny that they're going after Microsoft, but with announcements like this...I don't know.
