iPod Volume Control

Now this is very interesting. Read the article, it tells the whole story very nicely, but here's the short version. Apparently, the headphones on iPods (and other portable players) can cause serious ear damage and hearing loss if turned up too high. Apple just released a patch that allowers users to set their maximum volume. The setting can even be protected with a password for parents to put a cap on how loud their children can listen to music.

This is cool, but I have to ask...where'd it come from? This seems incredibly random to me...
