Google Word Processor

It finally happened. There have been rumors of a Google Word Processor for a long time that would be fully web based and accessable from that would be integrated with Gmail and the upcoming that would make us stop using Word.

The announcement came yesterday as Google acquired Writely, a company already providing such a service. I'd never heard of Writely before this.

If Google can effectively integrate this with their other services, this could majorly change the way people compose and distribute documents. This is very BIG news...

For now, they've stopped all new registrations as they move to Google's system. But you can sign up on the waiting list to be notified when service resumes. I am incredibly excited about this...whew...... :-)
