Google Mars

http://www.google.com/mars/

Google released yet another cool new service this morning. Not monumental, really, but interesting and fun nonetheless. It's Google Mars, which overlays maps of the red planet onto the familiar Google Maps layout.

Users can view a small area of the planet's surface in three ways, Visible, Elevation, or Infrared. The map also allows you view the location and all kinds of information about the various features of the planet, such as craters, mountains, etc.

It really is a lot of fun and if they keep updating it, this could be a great way for the public to learn about Mars. Enjoy!

Read more about how it works and good stuff like that here and here. :-)
