Kitchen Computer: An Update

Now that we're actually moved into our new place, work on the kitchen computer can begin. I have been working on it for about a week now and I can honestly say that it is very near completion. Here's a picture of the screen which is going to be in the cabinet door. Some minor re-wiring had to be done to make it fit properly:

I am still waiting for a few parts for the computer to arrive in the mail. Once I get them, we can actually mount the computer under the cabinet and wire it all in. Of course, that requires a modified cabinet door. As I said in the first post, since we're renting here, I can't just go cutting giant holes in the cabinet doors. That means building a new cabinet door. Here it is, partially painted and almost done:

So, it's really coming along! I hope to have it all up and running within another week or two. I'll post more pictures and perhaps a video tour once it's finished and installed in the kitchen. I'm excited!

Looks good. I think I have that same laptop laying around somewhere.

  2. It's looking pretty cool. What OS did you say it will run?

  3. Sweet! I was actually just wondering about this. Looking good so far. Can't wait to see the results.
