Ode to Crocs

Why the hate? I can't tell you how many negative articles I've read about these simple, rubbery-plastic shoes. Some people use hate language typically reserved for political candidates when describing innocent little Crocs. Take a look at the comments on this article on Consumerist, asking people whether they think Exxon Oil or Crocs is a worse company.

I have one question for all of you extreme nay-sayers out there. Have you tried them? I used to be in the hate camp, not understanding what the deal was, why people liked these ugly shoes. Then my wife got a pair. She raved on and no about how great they were, and how she could walk for hours without her feet hurting. My opinion softened slightly.

Then she talked me into buying a pair. My opinion changed completely. They truly are the most comfortable footwear I've ever tried. They're so light that you hardly feel them at all and you literally can walk all day without getting sore feet.

I just felt like I needed to share that. Brings us back to the age old adage of don't knock it 'till you've tried it. :-)

  1. Thanks for the informed perspective Ryan. I have mocked them from a distance for a while now. I don't know if I will ever come so far as to own a pair but maybe I will respect them a little more. ;)
