Arrival! (or) This is a vacation

This is the definition of a vacation. Are you ready? Write this down, there could be a test later. Vacation: sitting on a screened-in balcony in the middle of January clad only in a towel smoking a fine cigar and listening to the rain splash on the lake below. Ahhhhh...

We arrived early this afternoon in beautiful Orlando, Florida. We're staying at Marriott's Cypress Harbour, which is a resort I've been to several times since 1995 when we came for the first time. I haven't been here in over 5 years and it's even better than I remembered. Having my beautiful wife with me makes it perfect.

The weather was grumpy, but not preventative of top speed as we made our way down the east coast and cleared up completely shortly after we crossed into The Sunshine State. We checked into the hotel, then went to the grocery store to pick up the few food items we would need. When we came out of the store, the storm had apparently caught up with us. Rain was falling in torrential waves. Being the brave strong man that I am, I volunteered to sprint to the car and bring it to the curb for Shelsy. Naturally, after she got in the car, the rain slowed considerably.

It has been raining ever since and only just now has slowed to a very minor drizzle. But now that we're inside enjoying it from the balcony, it's much prettier. :-) I have a video that we shot from the inside of the car during our drive through the waves of precipitation, but I can't find the cable to connect my camera. I'll post the video tomorrow. The video is below.

Tomorrow we're going to visit the Sovereign Grace Church in Orlando, Metro Life Church, and after that it's off to SeaWorld. Tomorrow, incidentally, is also our first anniversary. That's exciting!

Watch for that video tomorrow. Until then, chow. Be sure to check out the video of the rainstorm!
