Windows Live Search goes online

Microsoft unveiled their new Live.com homepage today, which features their new Search bar. This is one of their key strategies for competing with Google. Windows Live Search replaces the old MSN Search, which held only an 8 percent market share in July. Google, by contrast, held 49 percent.

We'll see how Microsoft does promoting their new tool and whether users adopt it over Google. If they tie this in closely with their upcoming Vista operating system, they could draw more users.

Let's wait and see what happens.
